Blog Best Practice Guidelines
Principles and Guidelines
Welcome to CLU’d In. The CLU Institute is proud to be part of this exciting social media. This blog was created to engage financial advisors from all practice disciplines. We want to hear what you have to say. Our aim is to have discussions that are both stimulating and informative.
The following are the principles we hope all our bloggers will embrace.
Be Respectful of One Another
Please refrain from using profanity, advocating violence in any form or flagrantly immoral conduct, this includes pornography or any links thereto. Check your facts prior to posting your comments. Refrain from personal attacks or comments that would offend reasonable people. This is not a marketing blog so commercial messages are unwelcome.
We reserve the right to delete any comments that flagrantly do not abide by the rules of civility.
Bloggers and their Posts
Bloggers are free to express comment on postings and to express their opinions. When it comes to facts, please don’t take anything you read here as gospel, unless it can be verified. This is a blog after all. If you see something you think is wrong, please say so in a comment. If we discover a serious error we will ask the blogger to correct it and note the correction.
As a blogger you are responsible for your own communication, so please do not send material that is copyrighted, unless you are the copyright owner. Do not send in material that reveals trade secrets, unless you own them or have permission of the owner; send material that infringes on any other intellectual property rights of others or the privacy or publicity rights of others; send material that is obscene, defamatory, threatening, harassing, abusive, hateful or embarrassing to any other person or entity. Refrain from sending in advertisements or solicitations of business, chain letters or impersonate another person.
By submitting information or materials to the CLU Institute, you warrant and represent that you own or otherwise control all of the rights to the content and use of your information or materials by the CLU Institute will not infringe or violate the rights of any third party. You automatically grant the CLU Institute a royalty-free, perpetual, irrevocable, non-exclusive license to use, reproduce, modify, publish, edit, translate, distribute, perform and display your posts alone or as part of other works in any form, media, or technology whether now known or hereafter developed, and to sublicense such rights through multiple tiers of sublicenses. You retain the right to reuse such information and material.
Comments
When it comes to comments try to keep them succinct and on the topic of the thread. There is formal word count, but we do reserve the right to delete anything that may be “too” long.
Comments will be monitored by our administrator and may be edited if they not in line with the guidelines for our Blog.
The Final Judgment
One final word, what may be perfectly acceptable to one person may be unacceptable to another. These guidelines are subject to the interpretations of real, subjective human beings. It is not our intent to curb any comment or limit free speech. However we reserve the right to use our judgment around any comment that does not follow our specified guidelines.
Finally, “the views expressed in this blog are the views and beliefs of the individual contributors and do not necessarily reflect the views of Advocis or the CLU Institute.
